Activity: The overall objective of the project of which this contract is a part of, is ensuring the provision of formal and non-formal vocational and technical education and training according to labour market needs, supporting life-long learning, strengthening the relation between education and employment and facilitating harmonization with European Qualifications Framework (EQF). The purpose of this contract is to support the VQA and Occupational Standards Development, Vocational Knowledge and Skills Testing and Certification Centres (VOC-TEST) to establish and initiate an efficient and sustainable National Qualifications System based on agreed occupational standards with an appropriate system for assessment, grading and certification at all levels in line with European Qualifications Framework.

Promotion of basic education in Punjab

Activity: The new National Human Resource Development Strategy (NHRDS) and the 10th National Development Plan (NDP10) both aim at creating an education system capable of providing an adequate supply of qualified, productive and competitive human resources. In line with these two policies, the technical assistance project aims at supporting the Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD) in providing strategic planning and operational oversight in implementing key reforms.

Assistance to the Reform of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training System in the Arab Republic of Egypt (TVET Reform Project)

Activity: The overall objective of the project is to contribute to improving the competitiveness of the Egyptian enterprises on domestic and international markets. In particular this contract is contributing to the immediate objective: To support the development of human and institutional capacity for the formulation and implementation of a national TVET reform policy.

Training of 1.000 inspectors for primary and secondary schools

Activity: The overall objective is to contribute to the effort to improve the quality of education in the Democratic Republic of Congo, in accordance with the objectives of Education For All and the Millennium Development Goals, by improving the technical and managerial capacity of inspectors through targeted training. The immediate objective is the strengthening of the capacity of 1.000 inspectors from primary, secondary and vocational education so that they can more effectively perform the tasks of supervision and inspectorial control. At the end of this training activity, 500 inspectors in post primary and secondary education are able to provide better support to teachers councils and 500 new inspectors have been trained in school inspection methods, evaluation and educational disciplines.

Capacity Building Support for the Ministry of National Education

Shanxi Development Strategy for Technical and Vocational Education and Training

Activity: The impact of the TA is the transformation of the TVET system in Shanxi into a demand and employment-driven and competence-based system in support of Shanxi’s medium- and long-term social and economic development. The outcome of the TA is the consideration by higher authorities of the provincial and central governments of key TA policy recommendations for improving the TVET system in Shanxi.

Social Partnership in Education and Training, Phase 2
